Jerry Mitchell Shipman, Sr., 56, of 364 Indian Springs Trail, died Tuesday April 17, 2007 at Duke University Hospital.

Born in Greenville County, SC, he was a son of Sarah Tripp Brown, of Easley and the late Theodore Eugene Shipman, Sr. Mr. Shipman graduated from Tri-County Tech and was an employee of McNutt Heating and Air in Arden, NC. He attended Fruitland United Methodist Church.

Surviving in addition to his mother is his son, Mitchell Shipman and his wife, Melissa, of Easley ; a brother, Ted Shipman, of Augusta, Georgia ; three sisters and their husbands, Elizabeth and Robert Putman and Nancy and Barry White, all of Easley, Sue and Frans Vanzeeland, of Greensboro, NC ; two grandchildren, April and Owen Shipman, of Easley.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his step-father, James William Brown and maternal grandmother, Dot Tripp.

Funeral services will be Saturday at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of Robinson Funeral Home - Powdersville Road conducted by the Reverend Jerry Warren. Burial will follow in Robinson Memorial Gardens, 1425 Powdersville Road, Easley.

The family is at the home of Sarah T. Brown, 703 Zion School Road, Easley and will receive friends Saturday from 12:30 pm until 1:45 pm at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to Fruitland United Methodist Church - Benevolence Fund, to assist needy people.
