Jerry Garrett Thompson, 76, of Greer, SC and formerly of Columbus, Ohio, passed away Tuesday May 17, 2011 at McCall Hospice House.
Mr. Thompson was born in Mullens, West Virginia, the son of the late Garrett Gilbert Thompson and Mary Graham Thompson Short. He retired from Jeffrey Dresser, Inc. in Woodruff, SC after 41 years of service and was a Methodist.
Surviving are his wife, Opal Mae Hatfield Thompson, of the home; three sons, Steven G. Thompson (Elizabeth), of Taylors, SC, Kevin M. Thompson (Melody) and Scott B. Thompson (Lynne), all of Greenville, SC; grandchildren, Ian Thompson, Jessica Thompson, Taylor Thompson, Megan Thompson, Stephanie Orton and Samantha Orton.
Memorial services will be Sunday May 22, 2011 at 2:30 in the Chapel of Robinson Funeral Home - Powdersville Road, Easley, SC, with the Reverend Allen Stegall officiating.
Visitation will be from 1:30 PM until 2:15 PM Sunday, prior to the service, at the funeral home.
The family is at the residence.
