Jerry Clayton Waldrop

Jerry Clayton Waldrop, 81, of Easley, husband of Darlene Davis Waldrop, passed away on Wednesday, December 20, 2023.

Born on October 19, 1942, in Anderson County, SC, a son of the late Marvin Dee and Janie Lee Pearson Waldrop. Jerry's life was marked by dedication to his work and devotion to his family. Jerry was very proud of his career and left a lasting impression on many colleagues and clients. He began his professional journey at Davis Mechanical before moving on to Century Contractors, where he excelled in upper management. His work ethic and leadership skills were commendable, earning him the respect of his colleagues and peers. In addition to his successful career, Jerry also served his country with honor as a member of the US Air Force. Beyond his professional and military achievements, Jerry's true passion resided in the love he had for his family. He cherished every moment spent with them and took great joy in being a husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. His presence brought warmth and happiness to those fortunate enough to be part of his life. In his free time, Jerry enjoyed motorcycle rides and was an avid fan of NASCAR racing.

In addition to his wife of 40 years, he is survived by his four children, Kenneth Clayton Waldrop, Jerry Wayne Waldrop, Chad A. Rogers (Nicole), and Brittnee Oswald (Travis); one brother, Tony Joe Waldrop (Doris); six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a son, Timothy Mark Waldrop; and two brothers, Marvin Dee Waldrop, Jr., and James “Rabbit” Michael Waldrop.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, December 23, 2023, from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM at Robinson Funeral Home – Powdersville Road. A graveside service will follow at 11:30 AM at Robinson Memorial Gardens.
