Jerry Woodard, 69, husband of Martha Louise Sims Woodard of 642 Golden Creek Road died Sunday, July 17, 2016 at his home.

Born in Franklin, NC, he was a son of the late Leeman and Carrie Crisp Woodard.  He was a mechanic with Duke Energy and a member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church #2.  He loved to fish and take trips into the mountains and picnic with his family.

Surviving in addition to his wife, are a son, John Woodard of Liberty; daughter, Karen W. (Keith) Herd of Central; sisters, Sheila Moore of Seneca, Patricia Sims of Salem and Earline Browning of Seneca; grandchildren, Kali Woodard, Hunter Herd, Clay Herd and Austin Woodard; and a brother-in-law raised in the home, Lawrence Lane Sims.

In addition to his parents he was predeceased by a son, Billy Wayne Woodard; and a brother, John Cleveland Woodard.

Services will be at 2 PM, Wednesday in the chapel of Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home, Central with Revs. Leon Lusk and Adam Case officiating.

The family will greet friends immediately following the service at the funeral home.
