Jesse Garland Pelt, Sr., 74, of 207 Sundown Drive, died Monday, January 11, 2010, at the McCall Hospice House, Simpsonville.
Born in Six Mile, a son of the late Dan and Artie Viola Nix Pelt, Mr. Pelt retired from Saco Lowell and was a member of Missionary Baptist Church. He was a veteran of the US Army.
Survivors are his wife, Mildred Louise LaTaste Pelt of the home; a son, Jesse G. Pelt, Jr., of Easley; three daughters, Louise Simmons of Easley, and Genia Anderson and Shirley Brooks, both of Pickens; a sister, Mary Richey, of Central; and nine grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Mr. Pelt was predeceased by three brothers and three sisters.
Graveside services will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday at Greenlawn Memorial Park with Rev. Danny Posey and Rev. Bo Mackey officiating.
Visitation will be from noon until 1:30 p.m. Thursday at Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown.
The family is at the home.
