Jill Furst

Jill Leslie McKeever Furst, 76, of Easley, passed away on Friday, October 30, 2020.
Born in Dayton, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late John L. McKeever and Ernestine V. Riker McKeever. She had a B.A. in Humanities and a M.A. in English from Colorado State University and a M.A. in Art History from University of Colorado. Jill also had a Ph.D. in Art History from the University of New Mexico, specializing in Pre-Columbian Art. She was the author of numerous books and articles on the topics of Native American art and culture. She also gave lectures through the University of Pennsylvania, the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York, and the National Gallery of Art, Washington D.C. and served as a Speaker for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania Community Outreach Program.
After teaching Art History for over 20 years at Moore College of Art in Philadelphia, Jill retired, but never stopped learning. While living in South Carolina, she both took classes and taught classes through the Furman OLLI program for senior adults. Her many other interests included drawing, making beaded jewelry and learning Latin.
She is survived by her daughter, Clare Nunnery (Dan) and three grandchildren, Danielle, John 'Jack', and Matthew Nunnery.
She is predeceased by her parents.
A private family graveside service will be held in Robinson Memorial Gardens, Easley.
