James Armstrong "Jim" Hoffmann, 60, of Greenville, passed away peacefully on Friday, April 27, 2012 at his home, after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
Jim was a son of the late George Peter and Shadie Armstrong Hoffmann.
He had a long and distinguished career as a dental and medical salesman, consultant and entrepreneur. In the late 1970�??s Jim worked as a consultant for AFTCO Dental of Atlanta, in the early to mid 1980�??s he, along with Pete Sweeny founded Piedmont Medical Supply of Greenville, and in 1994 he founded and was the president of STAT Medical Services of Easley.
Jim is survived by his wife, Debbie Hoffmann of Greenville; two sons, Ryan Gilstrap Hoffmann of Greenville and James Crawford Hoffmann (Jae) of Atlanta; a step-son, Bates Huffman of Greenville; two brothers, George Peter Hoffmann, III, and William Andrew Hoffmann, both of Greenville; and a sister, Nancy Hoffmann Collins of Manassas, VA.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Monday in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Powdersville Road with Rev. Dr. John Adams and Mr. Wayne Culbertson officiating. Burial will follow in Springwood Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4:00 until 6:00 PM Sunday at the funeral home.
