Jimmy Lewis Hicks, passed away on March 13, 2024. He was a man of loving and kind nature, leaving behind a legacy cherished by many.
Born on May 21, 1937, Jimmy led a fulfilling life centered around his family and service to his country. He proudly served as a Staff Sergeant of the United States Army National Guard, a chapter of his life that brought him great pride and honor.
Jimmy found joy in simple pleasures such as fishing, tending to his garden, and attending his church at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. Jimmy was a faithful servant and Deacon at his church. His devotion to these hobbies and interests reflected his down-to-earth demeanor and genuine appreciation for life's blessings.
One of Jimmy's proudest accomplishments was his family. He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas Edward Hicks; mother, Jessie Bowen Hicks; and brother, Thomas Aldridge Hicks.
Jimmy is survived by his beloved wife of many years, Doris Mary Ann Hicks; sons Phillip Hicks (Karen) and Edward Hicks (Brandy); daughter Brenda Hicks Brown (Timothy); sisters, Barbara Smith and Joyce Oliver; seven Grandchildren; and four Great-Grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Monday, March 18th, 2024, from 12:30 – 1:45 PM at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church. Funeral service will follow visitation at the church starting at 2:00 PM.
Burial will follow service at Memory Gardens Cemetery, Clemson, SC.
