Jimmy Clifton Rogers, 84, husband of Frankie Rogers, went home to the Lord on Sunday, July 2, 2017.
Mr. Rogers was born in Liberty and was a son of the late, Riley Mae Porter Rogers and Robert Rogers. Jimmy was a veteran of the U. S. Navy, where he served proudly on the USS Pollux. The majority of his career was spent in the transportation industry working for Johnson Motor Lines and Estes Express. More recently, Jimmy was the well known and beloved owner of JR's convenience stores in Central and Norris, SC.
Jimmy was an active member of Calvary Hill Baptist Church in Easley.
Surviving are his wife of forty years, Frankie, and his children, Teresa Barbery (Jimm), Bryan Rogers (Julia), Darleen Suddeth (Jeff) and stepsons, Jon Maddox (Beth) and David Maddox (Kasey); brothers, Wallace Rogers (Faye), Wayne Rogers (Clara) and sisters, Linda McKee (Bob) and Betty Taylor (Russ); five grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Boyce Rogers.
A celebration of life service will be held at 3:00 PM Wednesday, July 5, 2017 in the Chapel of Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home, Central, with entombment to follow in Memory Gardens Mausoleum, Clemson.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until 2:45 PM prior to the service at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Calvary Hill Baptist Church, 501 Rampey Street, Easley, SC 29640.
