James Cannon "Jimmy" Welborn, 85, passed away Tuesday, April 1, 2014 at Redeemer Health and Rehab, in Pickens.
Born in Greenville, to the late Charlie Lee and Ruth Cannon Welborn, Jimmy retired from the U.S. Postal Service, where he worked as a mail carrier. In his off time, Jimmy loved to be outdoors planting trees and managing the forest around his family land. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran, a Mason, a Shriner and a member of the American Legion for fifty-two years.
He is survived by numerous cousins.
Graveside services will be 2:00 P.M. Friday, April 4, 2014 at Hillcrest Memorial Park, in Pickens.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Shriners Hospitals for Children-Greenville, Office of Development, 950 West Faris Road, Greenville, SC 29605.
