Jo Ann treasured all living things—humans, animals and plants. Her yard was always covered with beautiful flower beds, shrubs, trees and a vegetable garden every spring. She was a graduate of Northwest Guilford High School, Greensboro, North Carolina and she received a Bachelor of Science degree with a major in biology from Southern Wesleyan University, Central, South Carolina. She was a scientist and had no problem reconciling her strong Christian faith with her acumen in science. A reference she made when challenged is taken from Genesis 1:31; "And God saw everything that He had made, and, behold, it was very good." Her next reference was, "there's your Big Bang."
