Joan Kathleen Knight Alley

Joan Kathleen Knight Alley, 89, wife of the late James "Jim" Herman Alley, Sr., of Liberty, passed away Thursday, January 9, 2025.

Born in Greenville County, she was a daughter of the late Burrell Richmond and Blanch Mae Burrell Knight.

Mrs. Alley was employed as an operator with 3M Corporation for over 23 years and loved to spend time in her greenhouse, gardening her beautiful flowers.

Mrs. Alley is survived by sons, James Edward Alley, Jr. and Phil Hancock; daughters, Sherry Diane Knight and Madison Alley; a special niece and caretaker, Susan Roper; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, step-grandchildren, and step-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her loving husband, she was preceded in death by sons, James Howard Alley, Robert Edward Alley and Joseph Daniel Alley; a brother, Ray Marion Knight; and a sister, Lois Thornton.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 14, 2025 at the Chapel of Robinson Funeral Home, Downtown.
