Joan Hatfield Black, 83, passed away Friday, February 26, 2016 at The Cottingham House in Seneca.


Born in Jeanette, PA, she was a daughter of the late Arlin George Hatfield and Emma Jane Honse Hatfield.


Ms. Black received her Masters Degree in Behavioral Science from the University of Houston at Clear Lake. She retired from Richard M. Campbell Veterans Nursing Home as Director of Social Services and was a former counselor and board member of the Anderson/Oconee Alcohol and Drug Abuse Commission.


Surviving are her children, William H. Black, Jr. ,Yvonne B. Gillis, David H. Black, Kimberly B. Allyn, and Edward R. Black; six grandchildren; a sister, Katherine Hatfield; and a brother, Andrew Hatfield.


In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a brother, A. George Hatfield, Jr.
