Joan Newton Martin

Joan Newton Martin, 84, wife of the late, Guyton W. Martin, passed away on Wednesday, May 11, 2016 at Hospice of SC.

Mrs. Martin was born in Anderson County and was a daughter of the late Clyde C. and Edith Martin Newton.  She was a homemaker and a member of Utica Baptist Church.

Surviving are her brother, John E. Newton of Perry, GA; sisters, Barbara Collins of Easley, and Daisy Lindsey of Fort Mill; brother in law and sister in law, Leland (Joe) and Avernell Cromer; sisters-in law, Frances Martin and Mary Newton; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Ansel Newton; a sister, Juanita Foster and a special nephew, Michael Foster.

Graveside services will be held Saturday, May 14, 2016 at 2:00 PM in Memory Gardens, Clemson.

The family will receive friends Friday from 6:30 PM until 8:00 PM at Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home, Central.
