Joan Holliday Zink Stephens, 87, of Powdersville, died Saturday, April 24, 2021. She fought the battle of Alzheimer's Disease to the bitter end. She was a resident of The Haven in the Village at Chanticleer. Joan was the daughter of the late Walter Clifford Holliday and the late Dorsie Porter Holliday of Central, SC.
She graduated from Central High School and Draughons Business College. She retired from Duke Power in 1991 after thirty-seven years of service.
Surviving is her son, Dr. Freddie Zink of Powdersville; stepson, M.W. "Dude" Stephens, Jr. (La Von) of Big Canoe, GA; stepdaughter, Susie Wedgwood (Terry) of Piedmont; and stepdaughters-in-law, Becky Stephens of Powdersville and Bonnie Stephens of Franklin, TN.
She was predeceased by her husband, M.W. "Dude" Stephens, Sr.; brothers, Ben Holliday of Gaffney and Tommy Holliday of Central; stepsons, Phillip Stephens and Eddie Stephens, both of Powdersville.
Joan was an active and longtime member of Siloam Baptist Church and active with traveling and senior groups from both Rock Springs and Welcome Baptist Church. For years, she rarely missed a Bingo game that was being played anywhere in the Powdersville Community.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 27, 2021 at Siloam Baptist Church in Powdersville. Burial will follow in the Holliday family section of Memory Gardens on Issaqueena Trail in Central, SC. Pastors Troy Harrison and Jack Cooper will lead the service
