JoAnn Myers, 66, a beloved wife, mother, and friend, passed away on July 12, 2023, at Prisma Health Greenville Memorial Hospital. JoAnn's life was filled with love, care, and devotion to her family.
JoAnn started her professional journey as a Dispatcher with Coke Cola. Her exceptional organizational skills and dedication made her an invaluable asset to the team. Later, she worked as a secretary for a couple of local doctor's offices, where her friendly nature and compassion brought comfort to those in need. However, it was during her years as a homemaker that JoAnn discovered her true calling and experienced the greatest joy in life caring for her family.
Graduating from Wren High School in 1975, JoAnn always valued education and encouraged others to pursue their dreams. She believed that knowledge opens doors to endless possibilities and instills confidence in oneself.
JoAnn had a kind soul that radiated warmth and affection. Her family meant the world to her, and she poured all her love into being a loving wife and mother. Her unwavering devotion created a nurturing environment where everyone felt cherished and supported. Outside of her professional endeavors and family life, JoAnn had an eye for beauty. She developed a passion for antiques and spent many delightful hours scouring thrift stores for unique furniture pieces. With an innate talent for interior design, JoAnn turned humble items into treasured gems that adorned their home with elegance.
Throughout the years, JoAnn faced life's challenges with grace and resilience. Her caring nature touched the hearts of everyone she met. Friends admired her genuine kindness and sought solace in her comforting presence.
JoAnn leaves behind a profound legacy of love and compassion. She is survived by her devoted husband of 44 years Steve Myers, who will forever cherish their shared memories of joy and happiness; her son, Thomas Myers; one brother, Bobby “Speedy” Joe Hiott (Lisa); three sisters, Brenda McBride (Larry), Debbie McKee (Larry), and Sandy Howard; her mother- in–law that she loved, Louise Myers. Several nieces and nephews also survive. JoAnn was preceded in death by her parents, Bobby Joe Hoitt, Sr. and Thelma Mae Jean Hiott.
While we mourn her loss deeply, let us take comfort in the knowledge that JoAnn's spirit will forever live on in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing her. Her love will continue to inspire and guide us, reminding us of the importance of selflessness and kindness.
