Mrs. JoAnn B. Sousa, 82, and widow of Charles H. Sousa, Jr., passed away peacefully, surrounded by family June 5, 2018.
She was born in Piedmont December 15, 1935 a daughter of Noah and Lucille Traynum Barbre.
JoAnn loved to travel. She enjoyed camping, ceramics, and animals. She was a volunteer at the humane society, and was retired from Easley Hospital.
In addition to her parents and husband, JoAnn was predeceased by a sister, Junie Barbre. She is survived by her son, David Wright and his wife, Janice of Liberty; daughter, Cindy McQueen and her husband, Mike of Easley, and daughter, Missy Sheen and her husband, Brad of Hinassee, VA; three grandchildren, Summer Stone, Chris McQueen, and Alfred Sheen; three great grandchildren, Regan, Rachel, and Marissa; and a sister, Daisy Ruud and husband, Jim of Easley.
Services will be private for the family. She will later be buried at sea with her husband Charlie.
Those who wish to remember JoAnn in a special way may make donations in her memory to the Pickens County Animal Shelter, P.O. Box 83, Liberty, SC 29657.
