Joe Glenn Bryant

January 31, 1941 — February 25, 2026

Piedmont

Joe Glenn Bryant, 85, of Piedmont, lovingly known as Glenn, went to be with his Lord on February 25, 2026. Throughout his life, Glenn was not only a devoted husband and father but also a remarkable role model, a hard-working man who dedicated himself fully to his family and their happiness.

Glen retired after a 30 year career as a maintenance technician at GE Gas Turbine, Glenn spent many years working hard to provide for those he loved the most. His strong work ethic was mirrored in his military service; he proudly served four years in the Marines, stationed at Parris Island, where he rose to the rank of Lance Corporal. This experience instilled in him high standards for himself and his family, a legacy he passed on to his beloved wife, Sheila, and their children.

Glenn and Sheila shared a beautiful love story that lasted an incredible 62 years. Meeting at a young age, they built their lives together, filled with joy, laughter, and a deep commitment to one another. Glenn was not only a partner but also a good father who instilled good morals and the belief in independence in his daughters and son. He taught them that there was nothing they couldn’t achieve, guiding them with love and strong encouragement.

Once Glenn became a “Papa,”  ("Opa" to great grand boy Owen" he embraced a newfound softness, happy in the pure joy of watching his grandchildren thrive. Glenn loved to capture these precious moments on his giant camcorder, recording them as they laughed and played around the house. He cherished teaching them how to throw rocks and even how to spit, creating memories that they will treasure forever.

Glenn had a passion for racing, working on cars, and sharing his love of the sport with his son and grandson at the Greenville Pickens Speedway. He was often seen alongside his brothers, racing on the asphalt oval, which became not just a hobby but a cherished family tradition. His interests extended far beyond the racetrack; he had an eye for collecting various items, from model cars to guns and everything in between.

Glenn found peace in nature and took great pleasure in savoring his favorite carrot cake while enjoying classic westerns or tapping his feet to the tunes of Jerry Lee Lewis. These simple things brought him joy and happiness.

Glenn is survived by his wife, Sheila Jo Bryant; their children, Randy Bryant (Susan), Pam Drennen, and Melissa Redding (David); his grandchildren, Kendal Drennen, Rebecca Ibert (Brennon), Koleman Bryant (Brittany), and Emily Bruckmann (Bradley); his great-grandchildren, Owen Ibert, Henley Bryant, Carter Bruckmann, Wade Ibert and Bodie Bryant. He is also survived by his siblings, Herbert Bryant, Jerry Bryant, Linda Smith, and Wanda Rowland.

Glenn is preceded in death by his parents, Worley and Ruth Bryant, and his siblings Donnie Bryant, Eunice Tucker, and Ann Whitten.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM to 11:45 AM on Monday, March 9, 2026, at Robinson Funeral Home – Powdersville Road in Easley, SC, followed by a funeral service in the chapel at 12:00 PM at Robinson Funeral Home – Powdersville Road, with burial to follow immediately afterword in Graceland West Cemetery.
