Joe N. Dyar, 89, of Clemson, passed away May 21, 2024. 

Born in Pickens County on November 4, 1934, he was the son of the late Joseph Arthur Dyar and Nina Gassaway Dyar. Joe graduated from The Medical University of South Carolina with a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy in 1959. He also served his country proudly in the United States Army Reserves. He was a member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church.

Joe was an outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and was an avid fisherman. He was a Clemson Tiger Fan and loved watching their sporting events.

Joe worked as a pharmacist with several pharmacies and owned his own drugstore for a number of years.

Joe is survived by his two brothers, Frank Dyar of Central and Woody Dyar of Clemson; sister, Dot Johnston of Central. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews and friends. Joe was predeceased by a sister, Ann Horton, brothers David Dyar, Larry Dyar and Dewitt Dyar.

His family would like to thank the staff at Dominion at Patrick Square in Clemson for helping him live his last months with dignity and peace.

A memorial service will be held in the chapel of Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home on Monday, June 3, at 11:00 AM.
