Mr. Joe Harrison Lesley, 77, of Easley, known to many as "Hot Dog" went to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, August 12, 2017.
Born October 9, 1939 in Easley, the son of the late Jack and Blanche Hughey Lesley, Joe was a graduate of Easley High School and attended North Greenville Jr. College.
Joe was the proud and well known owner and operator of Joe's Ice Cream Parlor. He received the Small Business of the Year award and served on the Cornerstone Bank Advisory Board. Joe had a passion for sports where he was a frequent spectator and was inducted to the Easley High School Athletic Hall of Fame. He was a faithful member of Easley First Baptist Church where he belonged to the ER Eller Sunday School class.
Surviving are his wife of fifty-six years, Carolyn Keasler Lesley; two daughters, Carol Jo L. Baumgarner (Rick), and Julie L. Ellison (Matt), all of Easley; four grandchildren who called him "Papa Joe", Taylor and Reagan Baumgarner, Lesley and Trey Ellison; and a sister, Mildred Williams of Easley.
In addition to his parents, Joe was predeceased by two sisters, Louise Walker and Jean Bush.
Funeral services will be 3:00 PM Monday, August 14, 2017 at Easley First Baptist Church with Rev. Dr. John Adams and Rev. John Parker officiating. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park in Pickens.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until 2:45 PM Monday in the church narthex, prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Easley First Baptist Church, For Generations to Come, 300 East 1st Avenue, Easley, SC 29640.
The family is at the home.
