Joe Clifton Medlin, 79, of Richard Street, husband of the late Jessie Lyday Medlin, passed away Monday, August 6, 2018 at St. Francis Hospital, surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Pickens County, Joe grew up in the Dacusville Coummunity. He was a son of the late Joseph and Theny Landers Medlin.

Mr. Medlin was retired from J.P. Stevens, Monaghan Plant after 45 years of dedicated service. He loved his family and enjoyed hunting with his nephew, Steve Lyday.

Surviving are his children, Mildred Brissey, Peggy Sloan, Gail Kern (Mike), David Lesley (Billie), Roy Lesley and George Medlin (Angel) all of Easley, and Billy Medlin (Tracy) of Pickens; and several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Mr. Medlin was the last surviving member of his immediate family. In addition to his wife and parents he was predeceased by a daughter-in-law, Becky Lesley; six brothers and sisters.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 8, 2018 at 1:00 PM in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Powdersville Road, with burial to follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park in Pickens.

The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the funeral home.

The family will be at the home of a son, Roy Lesley, 116 Mull Street, Easley, SC 29640.
