Joe Underwood Rader, 78, of 212 Bishop Branch Road and husband of Willie Poovey Rader, died Sunday, February 4, 2007 in Anderson.
He was born in Newton, NC, a son of the late Jonas Walter and Maude Marie Rader. He was a devoted, loving, giving and forgiving Father and husband who loved the Lord.

He was a retired after 32 years of service with as an electrical supervisor with Florida Power and Light Company. He earned his B.S. degree in Business from Lenior-Rhyne College in Hickory, NC; was a Korean Conflict veteran of the US Army and National Guard, was a member of Pendleton United Methodist Church and for many years volunteered with the Meals on Wheels Program. He also worked as a Tax Preparer with Joe's Tax Service in Central.

Suriviving in addition to his wife of the home, is, two daughters, Jan Rader of Greenville and Joan R. DeVault and her husband Val of Greenville; a brother, Kenneth Rader of Minneapolis, MN; sisters, Marie Snipes of Charlotte, NC and Eileen Coulter of GA; and five grandchildren, Jeremiah Sexton, Austin Sexton, James Sexton, Bethany Songer and Joseph Songer.

Memorial services will be held at 4 PM, Saturday at Pendleton United Methodist Church with Rev. Ben Barnett officiating.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Salkehatchie Camp Ministry C/O Pendleton UMC, PO Box 646, Pendleton, SC 29670.
