Joe David Thomason

Joe David Thomason, 66, of Easley, South Carolina, husband of Karen Bagwell Thomason, passed away on Sunday, January 12, 2025.

Born on September 17, 1958, he was the son of Vonnie Thomason and the late Bobby Eugene Thomason. Joe attended Lander University before graduating from Louisiana State University Shreveport with an MBA. For over 25 years, he worked at Henry Schein as a Credit Manager. Joe was known for his loving nature, always putting others first. He ensured that his family never went without anything they needed or wanted, embodying the values of care and support that defined him. His passion for helping people shone brightly throughout his life. In addition to his professional accomplishments, Joe had a great love for sports. He enjoyed refereeing high school and college basketball, sharing his knowledge and love for the game with young athletes. Joe was also a devoted fan of Carolina Gamecocks Football. He attended Guthrie Grove Church of God in his younger years and then became an impactful member of Shiloh Methodist Church.

In addition to his loving wife of 44 years, he is survived by two sons, Jake Thomason (Laura), of Mobile, Alabama, and Josh Thomason (Jessica Eckenrod),of Denver, Colorado; a brother, Michael Thomason (Kendra), of Dallas, Texas; and special friends, Cindy and Lester Farmer, Tom and Sandy Reid, and Joe and Ardeth Dunlap. 

The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 18, 2025, from 12:00 PM until 12:45 PM at Shiloh Methodist Church, 135 Reid Bagwell Road, Piedmont, SC 29673. The funeral service will follow at 1:00 in the church sanctuary. Burial will follow the service in the church cemetery.
