Joel Jay Altman, 73, of Easley, husband of the late Elizabeth Ann Ellys Altman, passed away on Saturday, November 1, 2025. Born in Bronx, NY, to the late David Altman and the late Dora Shefkowitz Altman, he was of Jewish faith.
Joel was a dedicated professional who spent a significant part of his career as a butcher in New York before transitioning into the world of commercial digital printing.
Adored by those who knew him, Joel had a gentle spirit and a warm heart. He found solace in simple pleasures, such as cooking and fishing. An avid sports fan, he often took pride in watching football and baseball, and was especially fond of the Tennessee Titan's player, Eddie George. His love for sports was a testament to his spirited personality and enthusiasm for life.
In his journey through life, Joel moved from New York to Florida and later to South Carolina, a decision inspired by the enjoyment he found while visiting a friend. It was in this beautiful area that he chose to build a life alongside his beloved wife. The couple shared 35 wonderful years together until her passing in 2017.
Joel is survived by his daughter, Kathryn "Katie" Bolde (Brian), sister, Marlene Fay Altman and several nieces.
The family will hold a private memorial service at a later date.

His legacy reflects not only his professional achievements but also the profound love he had for his wife and the joy he found in his hobbies. A respectful and kind man, Joel Jay Altman will be remembered with fondness and admiration.
