John Parker Allen, Jr., 64 passed away on Monday, October 12, 2009 in Jacksonville, FL. Parker was born and raised in Central, SC and graduated from Daniel High School. He received his B.S. Degree in Animal Science from the University of Maryland and a Masters Degree from Clemson University. He served his country in the U.S. Army as a 2nd Lt. Parker retired on December 1, 2008 from the Anheuser-Busch Company.
He was predeceased by his son John Parker Allen, III and his parents, J.P. and Vera Allen.
Survivors include his loving wife of 44 years, Sally Allen; son, Scott Allen (Angie); daughter, Kristi Grussing (Scott); grandchildren, Breann, James, Jason and Madeleine; sisters, Marie Gandy, Laurie Axford and Andrea Wiley, brother Tom Allen.
A memorial service in celebration of his life will be held on Saturday, October 24, 2009, 10:30 at Lawrence Chapel Methodist Church, 2101 Six Mile Hwy, Central, SC. Burial of cremains will be following the service.
Parker loved friends, fishing, gardening and grandchildren. He always had a smile on his face and loved to laugh. He smiles for the sake of smiling, laughs for no reason than fun.
In lieu of flowers, kindly make donations in Parker's memory to Mended Little Hearts of Jacksonville, 1820 Vista Lakes Dr., Orange Park, FL 32003.
