Mr. John Edward Alms, 66, passed away Monday, July 3, 2017.

Born in Sparta, IL, a son of the late R.L. and Cora Chapman Morton, Mr. Alms retired from The Schneider Company and was of the Baptist faith. He was a US Army Veteran having served in the Old Guard Honor Guard.

Surviving are a son, Scott Christopher Alms of Easley; a daughter Paula Alms Singh (Prakash) of Taylors; the mother of his children, Kay Melton of Taylors; one brother, Richard Morton of Easley; four sisters, Cathie Atkins of Easley, Vicky Harvey of Hendersonville, NC, Mary Ann Page of Williamston and Suzanne Musick of Piedmont; six grandchildren, Brittany Alms, Anakin Alms, Roman Alms, Simeon Alms, Ava Singh and Alyssa Singh; and one great-grandchild, Layton. In addition to his mother, Mr. Alms was predeceased by a brother, David Alms; and a brother, Arthur Morton.

Memorial services will be noon Saturday, July 8, 2017 in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown with Rev. Dr. David Gallamore officiating.
