John M. Bailey Sr.
Greer, SC
One of Master Sergeant John M. Bailey's biggest traits was his servant heart. He faithfully served his Lord, his family, his country, and the community. On Monday April 12th, 2021 he went on to continue his legacy serving in the presence of his Lord and Savior. Papa John, as he was known, attended the needs of others with a compassionate heart, with the discipline of a soldier and with the caring hand of a grandfather.
Papa John was born in Bloomfield, MI on June 27, 1947. He served as an Air Refueling Specialist in the Air Force. He is survived by his brother Jerold (Nancy) Bailey. He was a devoted father to Sheila and Mark Maloney; Joanna and Zach Robson; John and Annell Bailey; and his six grandchildren: AJ, Tallula, Jasmine, Trevor, Adda, and Vera.
Family, friends and members of the community are invited to join the Bailey family on Friday April 16th, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. for a celebration of life service at Brushy Creek Baptist Church in Taylors, SC. The burial will take place at MJ Dolly Cooper Veterans Cemetery in Anderson, SC at 2:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully asks that donations be made to the benevolence fund of Brushy Creek Baptist Church, 4999 Old Spartanburg Road, Taylor's, SC 29687.
Papa John will forever be remembered for his legacy and example of honor, hard work, love and his readiness to always attend the needs of others with a 10/4.
1 Timothy 1:17 "Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory for ever and ever. Amen."
