John Baylus Chapman, 91, died Wednesday, April 25, 2007 at Greenville Living Center.
Born in Pickens County, he was a son of the late Samuel C. and Ophelia Pittman Chapman. He was retired from textiles where he worked as a machinist.
Surviving are three sons, Tommy Chapman of Greer, Jimmy Chapman, Wayne Chapman, both of Simpsonville; two daughters, Joann Johnson of Simpsonville, Betty Chandler of Greenville; two sisters, Evelyn Bryson of Anderson, Grace Bray of Jacksonville, FL; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. In additon to his parents, he was predeceased by three wives, Ruby Brown Chapman, Stella Tate Chapman, Florence Chapman; two brothers, Sam Chapman, Pat Chapman; and a sister, Dorothy Waters.
A graveside service will be 2:00 PM Friday at Hillcrest Memorial Park with Reverends Jack Arnold and Daniel Lee officiating.
The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the graveside.
