John Hart Coker III, 77, of Charissa Drive, passed away, Monday, December 7, 2009 at St Francis Hospital in Greenville.
Mr. Coker was born in Darlington, SC, the son of the late John Hart Coker II and Pauline Kelly Coker. He was the retired business owner of Coker Service and Repair, a member of First Baptist Church of Clemson and the McLeod-Spencer Sunday School Class, and a veteran of the US Navy having served in the Korean War.
Mr. Coker is survived by his wife, Edna Suber Coker; a son, John Hart Coker IV and wife Shannon of Clemson; a daughter, Edna Coker Bowen and husband, Brian of Central; sisters, Mary Jane Patterson of Clemson and Betty Anne Tate of Charleston, SC; grandchildren, Chandler Compton, Harrison Compton, Logan Bowen, Coker Bowen, Wesley Coker, Avery Coker, Clay Coker, and Trey Coker.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, December 10, 2009 from 12:30 to 2:00 PM in the Family Life Center at First Baptist Church of Clemson with the funeral service to follow at 2:00PM. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens.
