John C. Cope, Jr.

John Clay Cope, Jr., 71, of 201 Catherine Street, Apt. 1A, and husband of Frances Hazel Duncan Cope, died Friday, March 9, 2007.

Born in Pickens County, he was a son of the late John and Violet Powell Cope. He was a retired employee of Woodside Mill in Easley and was of the Baptist faith.

Surviving in addition to his wife are, three sons, Roger Cope of Six Mile, Randell Cope of Liberty and Ricky Cope of Pickens; two sisters, Carry Pilgrim of Easley and Mary Galloway of Pickens; two grandchildren, Jonathan Cope, Jr. and Tiffany Malpass; 3 step-grandchildren; and 1 step-great-grandchild.

Funeral services will be held at 2 PM, Tuesday at New Image Outreach in Easley with Rev. Eric D. Branch officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 PM, Sunday at Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown.

The family is at the home of a son, Randell Cope, 322 Summit Drive, Liberty.
