John "Jack" Hugh Davis Jr.

John Hugh Davis Jr., 86, of Clemson, SC, passed away on September 12, 2025. He was born in Johnstown, PA to the late John H. Davis Sr. and Louise Vickory Davis.

Jack earned his bachelor's degree in engineering from The University of Pittsburgh, which laid the foundation for a successful career. He enjoyed a long and fulfilling career as an engineer, dedicating many years to his profession.

Beyond his work, Jack was known for his loving and caring personality. He cherished his family deeply and regarded them as his proudest accomplishment. His interests included golfing, tinkering with mechanical objects, solving crossword puzzles, and supporting Clemson Football. John also had a special bond with his precious pet dogs, who brought him joy and companionship.

He will be remembered fondly by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Jack is survived by his son, James A. Davis; daughters, Katherine D. Savage, and Kelley P. Allison (Scott); sisters, Barabara Ruttenburg, and Sally D. Hays; grandchildren, Madison Savage Williams (Ty), Claire Savage, Dorsey Zaharis (Austin), Taylor Allison, and Ansley Allison; great-grandchildren, Krew, Carter, Rylee, and Knox; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Jack is preceded in death by his cherished wife Donna Dorsey Davis.

A Graveside Service will be on October 29th, 2025, at 3 PM, at St. Pauls Episcopal Church Cemetery in Pendleton, SC.
