John "Johnny" Gibson, Jr., 77, of 217 W.T. Wyatt Road, husband of Eliza Anne Wyatt Gibson, passed away Tuesday July 24, 2012 at Hosanna Health and Rehab.
Mr. Gibson was born in Fayetteville, Arkansas, a son of the late John Gibson, Sr. and Ellen Carter Gibson. He retired from the U.S. Air Force after 23 years of service. Mr. Gibson was a master basket maker following a long tradition with his family in Arkansas. He was a Baptist.
Surviving in addition to his wife are three sons, John Gibson, III and his wife, Lisa, of Asheville, NC, James William Gibson, of Fayetteville, Arkansas and Jeffrey Brett Massingale, of Brentwood, Arkansas; 7 grandchildren, Airely Gene Friedel, John Wesley Gibson, John Derrick Gibson, Benjamin David Gibson, Samuel Douglas Gibson, James Adam Gibson and Eliza Anne Gibson; one great-grandchild, Emery John Friedel.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Delores Hagler.
Memorial Services will be 2:00 PM Friday at Corinth Baptist Church.
