John (Jack) Thomas Gilliland, 80, of Easley, husband of Helen Brooks Gilliland, passed away Tuesday, August 30, 2011 at St. Francis Regency Hospital.
Mr. Gilliland was born in Richmond, VA, the son of the late William Oscar and Iona Estella Bagwell Gilliland. Mr. Gilliland was a self-employed mechanic, served in the U.S. Army and was of the Baptist faith.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are a step-son, Jimmy Ramey (Priscilla) of Monroe, NC; a brother, Robert Gilliland; two grandchildren, Jimmy J. Ramey and Helen M. Warren, both of Monroe, NC; four great-grandchildren and a step-granddaughter, Tony R. Igloo, an active Marine of Fayetteville, NC.
Funeral will be 2:00 PM Saturday, September 3, 2011 in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Powdersville Road. Burial will follow in Robinson Memorial Gardens.
Visitation will be from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Friday at Robinson Funeral Home-Powdersville Road.
