John Daniel "J.D." Griffith

February 12, 1936 — January 1, 2017

John Daniel "J.D." Griffith, Jr., 80, of Easley, passed Sunday, January 1, 2017 at his residence surrounded by his family.

He was born in Pickens County to the late John Daniel Griffith, Sr. and Alice Suttles Griffith.

J.D. was a U.S. Air Force Veteran. He worked for Southeastern Freight Lines for over 20 years before retiring in 1982. After retirement, J.D. enjoyed being on the water in Florida fishing.

In addition to his parents, J.D. was preceded in death by his sisters, Myrtle Cash and Faye Beder.

Left to cherish his memory are his children, Ronald Douglas Griffith, Vicki Babb (Kenneth), and Steve Griffith (Tammy); ex-wife and long time friend, Grace Griffith Ivie; grandchildren, Carl James Hall (Heather), and Kenneth Daniel Babb (Crystal Patterson); great-granddaughters, Carlyn, Maria and Gabriella; several nieces and nephews.

Memorial service will be held Thursday, January 5th, at 7:00 PM at Robinson Funeral Home - Powdersville Road, 1425 Powdersville Road, Easley.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made directly to Open Arms Hospice, 1836 W Georgia Rd, Simpsonville, SC 29680.
