John I. Hendricks, 78, of 411 Lebanon Road and husband of Norma Jean Holcombe Hendricks, died Friday, February 25, 2011 at the Rainey Hospice House in Anderson.
Born in Pickens County, he was a son of the late Matthew Latimore and Lillian Smith Hendricks. John served for 36 years as a maintenance supervisor with Clemson University, was a US Navy Veteran of the Korean War and was a member of Faith Fellowship in Pendleton.
Surviving in addition to his wife are one son, Billy Hendricks of Salem, SC; three daughters, Arlene Whitfield of Pendleton, Darlene Mize of Seneca, and Kathy Holder of Central; two brothers, James Hendricks of Central and Hubert Hendricks of Easley; one sister, Hazel Patterson of Liberty, SC; 6 grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Leroy Hendricks.
Funeral services will be 2 PM, Monday in the chapel of Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home, Central with burial to follow in Oconee Memorial Park, Seneca.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 PM, Sunday at the funeral home.
