John D. "Jack" Clarkson, 84, longtime resident of Easley, passed away on February 13, 2023 with his loving wife, Joyce Baker Clarkson by his side. 

Born in Lima, Ohio, son of the late Walter and Ruth Lowman Clarkson. Jack got his bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering from the University of South Carolina and obtained his Professional Engineering license from ASME.  He enjoyed cheering on his Carolina Gamecocks. He also enjoyed computers, technology, working on various projects around the house, and had a great sense of humor. Jack was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who will be missed greatly by his family. 

In addition to his loving wife of 63 years are two sons, Lewis Clarkson (Michelle) and Robert Clarkson (Angel); a daughter, Rachel Clarkson; seven grandchildren, Jessica Johnson (Spencer), Morgan Clarkson, Vivian Clarkson, Greg Slattery (Sandra), Nicole Welch (Brian), Meagan Blake (Jeremy), and Jennifer McMakin (Ansel); four great-grandchildren, Finley Johnson, Henry and Benjamin Welch, and Luke Blake; two sisters, Becky Todd (Jerry) and Jill Robinson (Phil); and four nieces and nephews, Alan Todd, Jeffrey Todd, Dr. Kara Jo Dodgens (Travis), and Jay Robinson (Allison).

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, February 17, 2023 in Robinson Memorial Gardens. 

The family would like to extend a special thanks to close family friends Jo and Thom Moore and their entire family for their love and care.
