JOHN W. JARVIS

John Walter Jarvis, 86, of Easley, SC died Friday, June 1, 2007 in Greenville, SC.
Born on November 21, 1920 in Duluth, MN, he was the son of the late John and Hulda Jarvis. John married Helen Maki in Port Arthur, Ontario, Canada on August 31, 1946. He served in the Canadian Army in Great Britain for five years during World War II. The family moved to Duluth, MN in 1953, where Mr. Jarvis was employed by the Duluth Transit Authority until he retired in 1983. Mr. and Mrs. Jarvis spent their retirement years in Sarasota, FL, before moving to South Carolina in 2005, where Helen Jarvis passed away on February 19, 2006.
Surviving are two sons, David Jarvis and wife Diane of Jamestown, Tennessee, and Robert Jarvis and wife Marci of Fairfield, CA; two daughters, Arlene Johnson and husband Thomas of Easley, SC, and Barbara Lindquist and husband Bruce of Duluth, MN; a brother, Everett Jarvis of Kelowna, BC, a sister, Evelyn Pister of Sault St. Marie, Ontario, and a sister, Alice Brown of Thunder Bay Ontario; eight grandchildren, Robert Jarvis, Gregory Jarvis, Bryan Johnson, Ben Johnson, Brandon Johnson, Elizabeth Johnson, Matthew Lindquist, Molly Lindquist; and five great-grandchildren, Robert Jarvis Jr., Weston and Evelyn Johnson, and Griffin and Grady Johnson.
The family would like to thank the caregivers at NHC Mauldin, Magnolias of Easley, and the Willows of Easley for the kindness and care that was shown to Mr. Jarvis over the past year. We would also like to acknowledge Dr. Jai Hwang for the care provided to Mr. and Mrs. Jarvis.
A memorial service will be held at 2 PM, Monday, in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home - 1425 Powdersville Road, Easley, SC.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 PM, Monday at the funeral home prior to the service.
