John McClure Miller, 90, of 114 Woodhaven Road, passed away Monday, August 23, 2010, at Countryside Village.
Born in Hiawassee, NC, the son of the late James Robert and Hattie Deaver Miller, Mr. Miller retired as a truck driver and was a veteran of World War II having served with the US Army Air Corps.
Surviving are his wife, Louise Burnette Miller of the home; a son, Robert E. Miller (Beth) of Easley; a daughter, Martha E. Rogers (Del) of Waxhaw, NC; a sister, Anna Kate Page of Sarasota, FL; and two grandchildren, Dana and Corey Miller. In addition to his parents, Mr. Miller was predeceased by a grandson, Nicholas Miller.
Memorial services will be 1:30 p.m. Thursday in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown.
Following the memorial service, the family will receive friends from 2:30 until 4:00 p.m. Thursday at Countryside Village, 706 Pelzer Highway, Easley.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Make-A-Wish Foundation of South Carolina, 726-C Lowndes Hill Road; Greenville, SC 29607.
The family is the residence.
