John Paul Pew

Mr. John Paul Pew, Sr. 79, of West Union, loving husband of Judy Garland Pew, passed away Friday, December 9, 2016 at Oconee Medical Center.

John was born in Parkersburg, West Virginia on December 9, 1937 to the late Wallace Campbell and Beulah Goff Pew. He graduated from Greenville Technical College and Limestone College and served in the U.S. Air Force. John was an active member of McCarter Presbyterian Church in Greenville for 51 years, and served on many committees including Deacon, Elder, and Treasurer.

In addition to his loving wife of 51 years, John is survived by his two sons; Paul Pew (Kelly) of West Union, and Wally Pew (Becky) of Greer; a sister; Alice Ann Hoff (Joe) of Cairo, West Virginia; two grandchildren; Paige Gmerek (Josh) and Harrison Pew (Morgan); and three great-grandchildren; Hayden Gmerek, Cayson Gmerek, Layken Gmerek. He is also survived by three sister-in-laws; Joan Atkinson and Avis Hanson (Frank), both of Maine and Marlene Holmes (Don) of Rock Hill; numerous nieces and nephews, and two beloved dogs; Marley and Carley.

Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, December 13, 2016 in the Chapel of Robinson Funeral Home - Powdersville Road, 1425 Powdersville Road, Easley, SC. The family will receive friends following the service at the Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to either the McCarter Presbyterian Church, 2 Pelham Road, Greenville, SC 29615, or to Alzheimer's Association of South Carolina, 4124 Clemson Blvd. Suite L, Anderson, SC 29621.
