John Thomas Rich, 82, husband of Peggy Cover, died Friday, October 29, 2010 at Greenville Memorial Hospital. A native of Georgia he was the son of the late Euziah and Charlie Mae Donahue Rich. He was a veteran of the U. S. Navy and was a graduate of Georgia Tech. He was the site manager of BASF Clemson plant. He was a member of Clemson Rotary Club and was a past president of the S C Manufacturing Association. He was also an active member of Clemson First Baptist Church formerly serving as a Sunday School teacher and Deacon. He was a loving husband and father and was an avid golfer.
In addition to his wife he is survived by daughter, Cynthia Rich of Easley, sons Mike Rich of Anderson and Steve (Kathy) Rich of Piedmont, step daughters, Sandra Cover of California, Kendra Cover (Rigo Sanchez) of California and Andrea Cover of Charleston, step-grandson, Jack Cover Sanchez and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his first wife, Claudia Couch Rich and 16 brothers and sisters.
Funeral services will be Monday, November 1, 2010 at 2pm at the First Baptist Church of Clemson with burial to follow in Memory Gardens, The family will receive friends in the church Family Life Center from 1-2pm prior to the service on Monday. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Building Fund of the First Baptist Church of Clemson, 397 College Ave., Clemson, SC 29631.
