JOHN A. "JAY" ROLLINS,

John Adam "Jay" Rollins, 70, husband of Dicie Durham Rollins, died Saturday, February 7, 2009 at his residence. A native of Pickens County he was the son of Ramsey Rollins and the late Lola Boggs Rollins. He was a retired member of the Central Town Council and from the Clemson Downs Retirement Center. He was a member of the East Clemson Fellowship Church where he served as a Deacon. He also served in the National Guard and on the Central Rescue Squad.
In addition to his wife and father, he is survived by son Brent Jay Rollins of Greenville; daughters Wanda Rollins Palmer and husband Russell of Norris and Victoria Rollins Brewer and husband Donavon of Central; brothers, Robert "Bob" Rollins of Pendleton and Roger Rollins of Central; sister, Reba Simpson of Central; grandchildren Blake Brewer, Megan Palmer, Brandon Brewer and Lacey Jay Palmer. He was predeceased by a granddaughter Haley Brewer.
Funeral services will be Tuesday at 2pm in the East Clemson Christian Fellowship Church with burial to follow in Mt. Zion Cemetery in Central. The body is at Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 6-8pm on Monday and will be placed in the church at 1pm Tuesday prior to the service. The members of the Men's Bible Class are asked to serve as Honorary Escorts. The family is at the home.
