John Wayne Routh, Jr., 70, of 113 Perry Hill Road and husband of Mary Ann Routh, passed away Friday February 8, 2013 at Greenville Memorial Hospital surrounded by his loving family.

Mr. Routh weas born in Troy, NC, the son of Margaret White Michael, of Easley, SC and the late John Wayne Routh, Sr. He enlisted in the military at a young age and spent 20 years in the United States Coast Guard. Sadly, his service in Vietnam and exposure to Agent Orange was the initial cause of his health problems that eventually led to his death. He was a generous friend, a kind soul and a loving family man.

Surviving in addition to his wife and mother are two step-sons, David Ziegler (Lorrie), of San Antonio, Texas and Daniel Ziegler (Emil), of Orlando, Florida and a host of special, loving cousins.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a brother, Freddie W. Routh.

A memorial service will be 2:00 PM Sunday in the Chapel of Robinson Funeral Home - Powdersville Road. In accordance with his wishes, he will be cremated with inurnment at a later date in Arlington National Cemetery.

The family is at the residence.
