John "Ed" Stone -
Easley, SC
Mr. John "Ed" Stone, 85, husband of Doris Owens Stone , passed away Friday, March 23, 2012 at Baptist Easley, Hospital.
Born in Anderson County, a son of the late Ennis Major and Pauline Burroughs Stone, Mr. Stone was a US Navy Veteran having served in the Pacific Theater and the Pearl Harbor Conflict during WWII. Ed retired as manager of Grant Ford Body Shop and later retired from the Easley Fire department after twenty-eight years of service.
Surviving are in addition to his wife of sixty-three years are three sons, Micheal Stone (Cindy) of Easley, John Thomas Stone of Sevierville, TN and Brian Stone (Sissy) of Easley; two sisters, Joretta Stone Rampey (Harold) and Ellen Stone Nalley (Cecil), both of Easley; eight grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Mr. Stone was predeceased by a brother, Carl Stone.
Funeral serices will be 4:00 p.m. Monday, March 26, 2012 at St Andrew United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park.
Visitation will be Sunday from 6:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. at Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown.
The family is at the home, 102B Legion Street, Easley, SC 29642.
