John Raymond Sturgill, 72, of Piedmont, passed away July 12, 2021 at his home following a lengthy illness.
Born in Burdine, KY he was the son of the late Millard and Gladys Mullins Sturgill. John served our country in the United States Army and fought during the Vietnam War. He retired after 38 years of service from Cemex Concrete Company and was a member of Family of God Baptist Church. A devoted husband, father, grandfather and brother, he was loved by his family and will be greatly missed.
Surviving are his wife of 30 years, Linda McNew Sturgill; his son, James Sturgill and his wife Lynda, of Easley; his daughter, Nicole Sturgill, of Boynton Beach, FL; his two brothers, Eddy Sturgill, of West Palm Beach, FL and Bill Sturgill, of Lorain, OH; his five sisters, Peggy Keppler, of Lorain, OH, Judy Ferguson, of Cleveland, OH, Jennifer Cobb and Shirley Staveskie, of Lorain, OH, and Brenda Prescott, Tampa, FL; and his two grandchildren, Samantha and Cruz Sturgill.
A Celebration of Life service will be held Saturday, July 17, 2021 at 2:00pm in the Chapel of Robinson Funeral Home – Powdersville Road. Scroll to the video player below to view the service.
