John Thomas Tubbs, 71, of 106 Pebble Brook Drive, passed away Tuesday August 31, 2010 at Greenville Memorial Hospital.
Mr. Tubbs was born in San Antonio, Texas but was raised in Cynthiana, Kentucky, a son of the late John "Frank" Franklin and Thelma Quattlebaum Tubbs. He retired from KIPDA Company and was a U.S. Air Force veteran. He was a member of Rock Springs Baptist Church and the Pastor's Bible Fellowship Class.
Surviving are his companion, Janet Wright, of the home; 2 sons, Steve Spicer (Jamie), of Easley, SC and Jack Spicer (Freda), of Knox, Indiana; five daughters, Sandy Fisher (Steve), of Cincinatti, Ohio, Janice Spicer, of Plymouth, Indiana, Debbie Spicer and Becky Basler (Kurt), all of Knox, Indiana and Tanya Dick (Chris), of Harrisburg, PA.; a brother, Phillip "Phil" Curtis (Bonnie), of Louisville, KY, 4 sisters, Elaine McIntosh (Mike), of Daleville, Alabama and Jackie White, of Mississauga, Ontario, Canada, Joyce Tubbs-Ferrell, of LaVernia, Texas and Janette Reeves-Peterson, of Centerville, New Brunswick; his step-mother, Juanita Reeves, of LaVernia, Texas; 14 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be 11:00 AM Thursday at Rock Springs Baptist Church with the Reverend Dr. David Gallamore officiating.
Members of the Pastor's Bible Fellowship Class are invited to serve as Escort of Honor for the service.
Visitation will be from 7:00 PM until 9:00 PM Wednesday at Robinson Funeral Home - Powdersville Road.
The family is at the home of Steve Spicer, 135 Watson Road, Easley, SC.
