J.P. Waldrop

Mr. John Philip "J.P." Waldrop, 82, of 103 Oates Avenue, went home to be with His Lord on Wednesday, January 3, 2007, at Palmetto Health Baptist Easley.
Born in Liberty, Mr. Waldrop was a son of the late Clarence O'Neal and Ada Durham Waldrop. He served in the U. S. Army in Europe during World War II and was a recipient of the Bronze Star. After 37 years of employment, he retired from Southern Weaving. He was a member for 59 years of Pendleton Street Baptist Church, where he belonged to the Men's Sunday School Class. He was also a deacon and Sunday School Teacher.
Mr. Waldrop was a loving husband, father, brother, uncle, and will be missed by his wife, Geneva Martin Waldrop of the home; one daughter, Linda Louise Waldrop of the home; one brother, Eugene "Flip" Waldrop of Easley; one sister, Mary W. Greene of Easley; ten nieces and nephews; eight great-nieces and nephews; and two great-great nieces. In addition to his parents, Mr. Waldrop was predeceased by three brothers, Roy, Randall "Tater", and James Waldrop.
Funeral services will be 3:30 P.M. Friday at Pendleton Street Baptist Church with the Reverends Scott Willis, Keith Davis and Archie Sharpe officiating. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park. Escort of Honor will be the Men's Sunday School Class.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 - 3:30 P.M. Friday at the church prior to the service.
