John Evan Wood, 60, of 511 East Main Street and husband of Shiela Jones Wood, died Sunday, December 29, 2013 at Cottingham Hospice House in Seneca, SC.
Born in Clarkesville, GA, he is the son of Eunice Callas Wood and Dan P. Wood, Sr. of Westminster, SC. He was a former employee with Borg-Warner of Seneca. John was a graduate of Colorado State University where he entered school with a basketball scholarship. He was an avid Clemson football fan and loved the lake and his grandchildren.
Surviving in addition to his wife and parents are a step-son, Joshua (Jessica) Jones of Central; grandchildren, Kaleigh Jones, Rivers Jones and Caden Jones; and a brother, Dan P. (Debbie) Wood, Jr.
Funeral services will be 2 PM, Tuesday in the chapel of Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home, Central with Rev. Kenny Owen officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens, Clemson.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 1:50 PM, Tuesday prior to the service at the funeral home.
The family is at the home.
