John Christopher Wood, 26, of 231 Thomas Lane, passed away Saturday, July 9, 2011 at his home.
Born in Shelby, NC, he was the son of Rev. Peter and Kimberlee Williams Wood of Central. John was a 2007 graduate of Southern Wesleyan University where he had also earned his MBA. He loved working at House of Leung in Clemson, spent 2 years with Habitat for Humanity and was currently working for Concrete Canvas of Greenville. He enjoyed spending time with his family, being outdoors, working with his hands and listening to music. John was a member of First Wesleyan Church/Alive in Central.
He was a beloved son, brother, uncle and friend to many.
Surviving in addition to his parents are his sister, Ashley W. Perry and her husband, Chad of Central; his grandmother, Mary Williams of Shelby, NC; and two nieces, Charlotte and Cecilia Perry.
John was predeceased by his grandparents, Rev. Clarence Williams and Rev. Dixon and Naomi Harris Wood.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM, Tuesday at Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home in Central.
A memorial service will be held at 4 PM, Wednesday at First Wesleyan Church/Alive located at 807 Wesleyan Drive, Central, SC.
A private family burial will take place on Wednesday at Mt Zion Cemetery in Central.
Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to your local Habitat for Humanity organization.
