Johnny Ray Barnes, 71, of 105 Cameron Court, husband of Flora McDonald Barnes, passed away Thursday August 16, 2012 at his home.
Mr. Barnes was born in Rutherfordton, NC, a son of the late John Gordon and Alma Whitaker Barnes. He was a former retail salesman with Pritchard Paint and Glass Company in Charlotte, NC, a warehouse manager with Lowe's in Easley for 14 years, and Village Park Hardware for 5 years and later retired from Heileg-Meyers. He also was a former employee at The Easley Progress. He was a veteran of the Vietnam era from 1963 until 1969 and proudly served as a Sergeant in the U.S. Air Force. He was a member of St. Andrew United Methodist Church.
Surviving in addition to his wife are his son, Ray Barnes, Jr. and his wife, Meredith, of Jonesborough, Tennessee; a daughter, Karen Barnes Justus and her husband, James, of Easley, SC; a brother, Charles Robert Barnes, of Crestline, Ohio; grandchildren, Parker Barnes and Gracen Barnes, both of Jonesborough, Tennessee and Jasper Justus, Jonas Justus and Logan Justus, all of Easley, SC.
Funeral services will be 3:00 PM Saturday at St. Andrew United Methodist Church. Burial will follow in Robinson Memorial Gardens, Easley.
Visitation will be from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Friday at Robinson Funeral Home - Powdersville Road, Easley.
The family is at the home.
