Johnny Lee Lowe, 66, of 103 Mallard Drive, died Tuesday, April 22, 2008, at his home.
Born in Concord, NC, the son of the late Charles Cole and Gertrude May Basinger Lowe, Mr. Lowe retired from Michelin Tire Corporatioin and was a member of Glenwood Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and teacher of the Challenger Sunday School Class. He was a veteran of the US Navy.
Surviving are his wife, Mattie Gainey Lowe, of the home; two sons, William Boyd Lowe and wife, Faye, and James Cole Lowe and fiancee, Suzanne Fleming, all of Easley; a daughter, Jonnie May Lowe Wicks and husband, Brian, of Easley; two sisters, Judy Furr of New London, NC, and Mary Polk of Orangevale, CA; and four grandchildren, Sydney Lowe, Carly Lowe, Carson Lowe and William Lowe. In addition to his parents, Mr. Lowe was predeceased by a sister, Betty Fontenot.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Friday at Glenwood Baptist Church with Rev. Dale McCoig officiating. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park.
Deacons of Glenwood Baptist Church will serve as honorary escort.
The body is at Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown where the family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Thursday and will be placed in the church at noon Friday.
Memorials may be made to Glenwood Baptist Church, 325 Saco Lowell Road, Easley, SC 29640.
The family is at the residence.
